The new ACT Early campaign is already having a life-changing impact in getting help and advice to those who might be at risk of radicalisation. Since its launch in November, the site has already received more than 25,000 individual visits (link below)
The Community Security Trust (CST) website has educational resources about antisemitism. You can report antisemitic attacks to CST alongside the police.
The Tell MAMA website contains information about Islamophobia. The service records and measures anti-Muslim incidents and supports victims of Islamophobia across the UK.
FINANCIALLY MOTIVATED SEXUAL EXTORTION
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has written to all schools asking them to communicate with parents/ carers. The NCA is concerned about the global increase in cases of financially motivated sexual sometimes called ‘sextortion’. This happens when a criminal pretends to be someone else online and tricks a young person, or adult, into sending nude or semi-nude pictures of themselves. The criminal then makes threats in order to get money or more images.
A detailed letter from the NCA is attached and is available here.
If you have any concerns or questions please contact the year office for your child by email, for example Year7@allertonhigh.org.uk. Our Year Managers and Year Coaches are trained in supporting students who are experiencing criminal behaviour online.
We have had some cases of this kind and have been well supported by our Safer Schools Police Officer in dealing with them.
