Welcome to Allerton High School!

We understand that the transition from primary to secondary school is a significant milestone for both you and your child. Our goal is to make this change as smooth and positive as possible. We are here to support your child every step of the way, ensuring they feel welcomed, comfortable, and prepared to begin their exciting journey into Year 7 with confidence.

In the weeks after your Year 7 place is confirmed, we’ll reach out to you and your family with helpful information about the transition process, including:

Our Year 7 Handbook which will cover essential details such as school uniform, required equipment, the curriculum, behaviour expectations, school dinners, homework, and where to find support at school
Information about our exciting Year 7 Transition Days
Key administrative details, like how to provide emergency contact information and your child’s medical/SEND details
Important information for the first day of school.

All communications will be sent via Operoo.

Transition Days – 1 or 3 July 2025

Our 2025 Transition days will be held on 1 July and 3 July 2025. Your child will be invited to one of these days. During this day your child will have the opportunity to:

Meet the Year 7 team, some of the teaching staff and new classmates
Experience an Allerton High School assembly
Have the tour of the school
Take part in a range of lessons across different subjects
Enjoy a school lunch

Selected students will also be invited to additional transition events depending on their identified needs. This will provide extra support with the transition from primary to secondary school.

Parent/Carer Welcome Evening – 3 July 2025

We warmly invite parents and carers of our new Year 7 students to our Year 7 Welcome Evening on Thursday, 3 July 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, learn valuable information, and gather practical tips to help your child settle into school life. Further details regarding the time and location will be shared as we get closer to the summer term.
