Similarly to that of Key Stage 4, students study their Post 16 courses over the two year period and our assessment schedule is designed to reflect this two year programme and steadily prepare students for completing their courses in the Summer of Year 13.
Students will sit formal ‘Mock’ exams once in Year 12 and twice in Year 13. As with Key Stage 4, this also allows us to provide feedback to students that is more than just topic specific, such as feedback on their exam technique.
Assessment in each subject is set up to reflect the way each individual course is assessed, for example courses involving coursework elements will have this reflected in their assessment grading to ensure students and parents/carers have an accurate picture of the grade a student is working at for the course as a whole.
