Allerton High School are proud to be the official provider of the LLS sixth form Sports Industry Course here in Leeds.
LLS are a global leader in sport-specific Post 16 education programmes and students who successfully apply for this course will have the opportunity to gain the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (coaching & fitness). Alongside their study, students will access weekly work experience in the local community in settings such as schools, with clubs and private sports academies.
The full-time qualification delivered by LLS at Allerton High School is taught by a team of qualified PE teachers and it carries the equivalent UCAS points to 3 A-Levels. The timetable is taught across three full days per week whilst the two days of non-teaching time is dedicated to gaining invaluable work experience.
Course highlights include regular inspiring talks from sports professionals, visits to universities and elite environments, as well as the chance to travel to Madrid for a 4-day work experience placement in Year 12. By becoming an LLS member, students become part of the company’s network which means you can start to build your contacts whilst you are in sixth form.
Once students progress into Year 13, a whole host of pathways are made available which include the chance to study a degree at university, the option to access a primary school sports apprenticeship or you can apply for a paid coaching role in countries including USA, Canada, Qatar, Sri Lanka, China, Australia and Scandinavia. If you are passionate about sport and hope to pursue a career in areas such as professional coaching, personal training, sports nutrition and physiotherapy, LLS would like to invite you along to one of their monthly taster sessions which take place here at school.
