KS3 Drama

How is the course assessed?

At Key Stage 3, there is a focus on developing and embedding students’ skills and knowledge of drama.

Students complete a termly assessment that builds on the skills, knowledge, and practical application covered throughout the term. The level of challenge increases across the year groups. Assessments focus on two key areas: devising and using scripts, both of which demonstrate students’ application of drama skills and knowledge.

Students receive regular verbal feedback during lessons and complete three PINS assessments each year. Grades reflect how consistently they demonstrate their skills, knowledge, and application in performance. A practical skills mark is taken from the final assessment, alongside their performance across different practical tasks, to determine the overall grade reported home.
