How is the course externally examined?

The course is graded with GCSE grades 1 to 9.

 

Each paper carries 50% of the qualification.

 

How is the course internally assessed?

Year 10

  • Students are assessed on their initial understanding of the topic using an introduction assessment created based on what they have learnt so far
  • Students then assessed on an endof-unit basis and an end-of-year assessment based on mock exam papers

Year 11

  • Students are assessed on Y10 content and their initial understanding of the Y11 content in a December assessment based on mock exam papers
  • Students are then assessed in March based on their Y11 end-of-unit content using mock exam papers
