How is the course externally examined?

GCSE Physics is taken with GCSE Biology and GCSE Chemistry. There are two papers for each of the three Sciences - Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Each of the papers will assess knowledge and understanding from distinct topic areas.

At the end of the course students will be awarded a grade for each Science (three grades in total) based on their scores across the two papers for that Science.

Students will sit the Higher tier (grade 4-9) for all 3 sciences.

Each exam comprises:

Written exam: 1 hour 45 minutes
100 marks
50% of GCSE
