Applied Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the structure and function of the skeletal and muscular systems, movement analysis, and the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
Physical Training: Exploring components of fitness, principles of training, and methods to prevent injury in physical activity.
Socio-cultural issues and sports psychology (02) 1 Hour exam out of 60 marks – 30%
SocioCultural Influences: Engagement patterns in physical activities and sports, commercialisation, and ethical and sociocultural issues.
Sports Psychology: Mental factors affecting performance, motivation, and strategies to enhance performance.
Health, Fitness, and Wellbeing: The importance of physical activity for overall health and wellbeing.
Their top 3 scores will be submitted to the exam board February Y11.
Students will take their practical exam in April (year 11) and will be moderated by an external examiner.
*Check OCR website for qualifying physical activities, list of external sports must be filmed and submitted to the exam board.
Analysis and evaluation of performance (AEP) (06) Written coursework 14 hours– 20 marks – 10%
In year 10, students analyse and evaluate their performance in one activity, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and proposing an action plan to enhance performance. Each of the six sections are marked of 20 and the average grade is submitted.

Practical performances
Students practical grades usually increase throughout the course as more sports are covered and external evidence is filmed.
All students at Allerton are assessed in climbing (filmed), athletics, handball, football, netball.
If students attend clubs in other sports on the specification, these will be assessed also. If an external sport, these will be filmed out of school and videos will be sent to the exam board (golf, swimming, skiing, boxing).
2x visits to Leeds climbing wall will take place to film evidence to send to the exam board.
Internal afterschool moderation sessions are mandatory to grade students, some of these sessions will take place with local schools.
Analysis and evaluation of performance (AEP)
In year 10, students will be completing their coursework in lessons. They will be invited to study support to make up missed hours. At the end of year 10 coursework will be moderated internally and grades will be finalised.
