We are phenomenally proud of the exceptional exam results our Year 11 students achieved in 2025 and delighted their hard work paid off. There is no progress measure this year because the Covid pandemic meant that students did not sit Year 6 SATs and therefore there is no data available to calculate their baseline. Attainment measures show how the students performed in the exams but without taking account of their starting points. Students at Allerton achieved grades significantly above national average.
The main headlines (reported by the DfE) are in the tables below. They will report progress from last year alongside this year’s attainment measures.

A Progress 8 score of zero means that students achieved what they were expected to based on their Year 6 results. A school’s Progress 8 is usually between -0.5 and +0.5. +0.9 is described as well above average. It means that AHS students achieved almost a grade higher in every subject than other students across England with similar Year 6 SATs results as them.
We are proud of the very many other individual achievements of our Year 11 cohort. The figures shown on the government’s ‘compare school performance’ website are slightly lower than those quoted above as they don’t include grades which went up during the exam re-mark progress. They update their website with these grades included in the new year.

Huge congratulations to our Year 13 students who achieved exceptional results both in terms of progress and attainment. Allerton High had the highest A Level Value Added score of all Post-16 providers in the city (including private/independent providers & sixth form colleges) placing us in the top 3% nationally. The last time Value Added was measured in 2019 Allerton High students also achieved the best in the city.
Student attainment was equally strong. Allerton’s best 3 A Level Average Points score was the highest in the city and in the top 2% nationally, as was the proportion of students achieving grades AAB or higher in facilitating subjects. The average grade achieved at A Level was a B (with 40% of grades being A or A*) and in vocational qualifications the average grade was a Distinction-.
Students performed exceptionally well across a wide range of qualifications meaning the vast majority were able to secure their preferred Post-18 pathway. A summary of reported headlines is below and more detail can be found on the government’s compare schools website https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/find-a-school-in-england (Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said that you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data of one school or college and another, or to data from previous years).
