How is the course assessed?

The course consists of three mandatory units. Two of which are non-examined units (coursework) which account for 60% of the course. These units are assessed by the classroom teacher and submitted to the exam board for moderation. The remaining unit is an examined assessment consisting of one exam paper lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. This is completed as a terminal assessment at the end of the course in the summer series.

Classroom based learning (in preparation for coursework tasks) will be consolidated with the use of homework activities.

Revision tasks and activities for the examined unit will also be regularly set as homework.

Expect 30 to 60 minutes (duration) per week.
