Leeds Next Steps
Leedsnextsteps campaign is aimed at 15-19 year olds and their parents/ carers who are still undecided on their plans for the next academic year.
We usually hold an event after GCSE results day called Leeds Next Steps where young people can talk to local colleges and apprenticeship providers, get information and advice about post- 16 learning opportunities, individual courses, apprenticeships and traineeships and find something to suit them.
All Apprenticeships, Higher Technical Qualifications, and T Levels are based on occupations recognised by employers. The Institute for Apprenticeships website have developed a series of Occupational Maps which bring these together to show where technical education can lead. There are 15 maps, one for each route.
You can explore a map by clicking on its name or the green chevron. Search for a specific occupation name using the Search for an occupation box.
A large number of our students go on to universities and it is important that they research the courses and universities so that they are able to make informed decisions. With 50,000 courses available at 310 institutions so students need to do some serious research to ensure they find the right course for them.

Can I combine subjects?
How do I want my course to be assessed - modular, coursework, exams?

Where can I study this course?

What’s its reputation like? League table ratings?
How competitive is it to get a place – entry requirements?
How much teaching support and time can it offer me?
What are its teaching facilities, ICT resources like?
How far away from home do I want to be?
Do I want to live in a main city or more rural location?
Do I want to be at a large city centre university or on a Campus?
