Results and Successes

2016 has been another successful year for Year 13 students at Allerton High's Sixth Form. More than a quarter of all grades (27%) were A* to A and almost half (47%) of the A-Level grades awarded were A* to B grades. The pass rate was 98%.

UK University Destinations

All of our students seeking a university place were successful with only a handful using clearing system. 33% of these places were at the more prestigious Russell Group Universities and included students placed in Medicine, Dentistry and at Oxbridge.

Overseas Opportunities

A focus of our Post 16 Programme is to broaden the horizons of our students, and it is with this in mind that we are pleased to see students beginning to secure a range of exciting paths. Our former basketball captain has started this year on a full scholarship at Maine University in New England, USA. This is a trend that looks set to continue as one of our Year 13 students has won a place on the prestigious Sutton Trust Fullbright Programme. This has seen him given specialist support to navigate the American University application process as well as spend two weeks at Yale University this summer. He is currently on a one term exchange in Texas to further enhance his understanding of the system. He will be one of four students in our Year 13 applying to study in America this year.

Apprenticeship Success

We are well aware that the Apprenticeship Levy is likely to change the Post 18 landscape and are well placed to make the most of the opportunities this may present for our students. Our "Alternative Pathway" cohort have secured success in recent years ranging from School Leavers Programmes with KPMG to apprenticeships in early learning and legal services. We have developed strong links with the Apprenticeship Hub, as well as companies such as "White Hat" who specialise in placing students in apprenticeships. We also have excellent employer engagement through our ever developing enhancement programme.
