BBC School Report

BBC School report

BBC News School Report gives 11-16 year old students in the UK the chance to make their own news for a real audience. It gives students the chance to develop their journalistic skills and become School Reporters for their school and the BBC.

Students were invited to take part in the project which has been running as an extra- curricular activity.

Over the last 5 weeks we have conducted a survey with Years 9 to 13 asking them about their knowledge and involvement in politics, analysed the results, researched the ‘grey vote’, interviewed grandparents read about what the politicians think of young voters, arranged an interview with Fabian Hamilton, interviewed a member of the youth parliament and worked with a BBC producer and camera woman.

On Thursday March 19th we took part in the annual News Day where schools simultaneously create video, audio and text based news reports and publish them on their school website.
